Skip Lunch to End Summer Hunger
Over 630,000 of our neighbors in Oklahoma are at risk of hunger.
1 in 4 is a child.
Some parents face impossible choices just to ensure their children are well-fed and sheltered, especially during the summer months when kids lose access to free and reduced meals at school. The Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma hopes to ease that burden by providing access to healthy, nourishing meals during the summer months through its Food for Kids program.
This year, during the month of July , your company or group can compete in the Skip Lunch to End Summer Hunger challenge to make this a reality. By donating what you would spend on lunch for a week, you and your co-workers will help cover the cost of food and other resources needed to run the Food Bank’s Food for Kids program this summer.
Sitting down to three meals a day should not be a choice. Please show us that you have a Heart for the Hungry and share with your co-workers and friends on social media by using the hashtag #SkipLunch:
“I’m accepting the Community Food Bank’s Skip Lunch to End Summer Hunger Challenge and I’m donating my lunch money to help Oklahoma children in need. Plus my donation is being matched dollar for dollar.
I’m challenging (friend), (friend) and (friend) to do the same. #SkipLunch“
*Please note that skipping a meal is a personal choice, and not a requirement for this challenge.
